ABOUT Patricia
Hello! I’m a digital strategist with more than two decades of media and agency experience in content strategy and production. I excel at developing paid and owned marketing campaigns that engage target audiences and deliver on business objectives …
I’m so sorry … Wow, that was a lot of jargon. I think I put myself to sleep. Let me start over.
I’m an editor, writer, and strategist. I started out as a book editor and then switched to digital media, first as an entertainment editor (ask me about my Bill Murray interview) and then as a marketing executive. I’m naturally curious and want to understand how things work, so I tend to be known as “the person who can fix what’s broken.” I like it that way! And because of this, I’ve gotten to work on every aspect of marketing, from content and social media strategy to project management and data analytics.
As an SVP on the digital team at Precision Strategies — a PR and marketing agency providing consultative services to nonprofit, corporate, and political clients — I developed digital campaigns for clients that included Cherokee Nation, FWD.us, and the Gates Foundation. Before that, I spent nine years at Business Insider, which I joined in 2013 (when it was still a startup of just 100 employees) to build Insider Studios, an award-winning branded content studio producing B2B and consumer marketing campaigns for advertisers such as Bank of America, Cartier, Chase, Dell Technologies, Fidelity Investments, and IBM. I held several leadership positions within Insider Studios and oversaw, at various times, creative development, content production, content analytics and insights, project management, and partnership strategy.
Prior to joining Business Insider, I was managing editor and editor-in-chief of AOL’s Moviefone. I also served as head of special projects for Moviefone and AOL Television, managing coverage of the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Emmy Awards, Sundance Film Festival, and other tentpole events. I started my career in book publishing as an editorial assistant and associate editor at W. W. Norton, working with authors such as Sebastian Junger, Michael Lewis, Patrick O’Brian, and Chuck Palahniuk.
Originally from California, I have a B.A. in English from UC Berkeley (go Bears) and live in Brooklyn, New York, where I’m on the board of my co-op building and therefore know more than I should about roofing.
